“I’m happy to share three new albums of music with you. You can listen to them above and on most music streaming platforms. Below are three new music videos to watch. These albums were recorded between 2020 and 2022 while I was living on Kökar, a small island community in Åland. The albums are very different in themes, style and sound, but are connected by the singular condition, being, presence, and effect that is Kökar. Mostly instrumental, the albums combine acoustic and electronic sound with some synthesized vocals.
This was by necessity a solitary project and a solo effort. However, I would like to give special thanks to Sakari Järvinen and Ilmari Kavén for lending your ears, sensitivity, and occasionally, speaker monitors, as well as for your invaluable support in general. Like a local sticker says, “Kökar is different”. Without that place, this music would not exist. “

MINÄ JA MUUT YMPÄRILLÄNI – seniorisploitaatioelokuva
After a year since its premiere to a full house at Arthouse Cinema Niagara in Tampere, followed by a tour of screenings at various senior citizen service centers, the freewheeling “seniorsploitation” movie Minä ja muut ympärilläni is now available to watch here (links to Vimeo). Running at 42 minutes, the film was entirely improvised by its cast, all senior citizens eager to explore the constructs, expectations, meanings, and possibilities associated with their age and societal roles. The film also takes a sharp, satirical look at contemporary work culture. Available in Finnish only.

A serial film titled NESTORI THOR IS RA (released 2022) about the metaphysics of Manse (Tampere, Finland) with Irina Isberg, Mikko Ängeslevä, Marko Ajanki and Ilmari Kavén. The website for the film has now shut down, but denim, dreams, sound technicians, most of it is still somewhere. More to follow later.
